Donovan Advanced Hurricane Protection, Inc. (DAHP) develops and manufactures flexible hurricane protection systems. Located in Stuart, Florida, DAHP is an offshoot of Donovan Enterprises; a 30-year old family owned and operated company supplying industrial fabric solutions. Michael Ciferri Jr. and his father, Mike Ciferri Sr., the owners of DAHP, bring their extensive background and experience in the industrial fabrics industry to the hurricane protection industry.

Michael Ciferri Jr. has been involved in the industrial fabrics and truck and transportation industry since he was 15 years old when he worked as a fabricator in Donovan’s tarp shop during High School and on summer break from college.

Upon graduating from the University of Florida with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management in 1995, Michael took a position with Supreme Corporation as an inside sales coordinator managing the Florida Van Body sales and production. In 1996 he took a position with American Commercial as a territory sales manager in charge of North Florida.

In 1999 Michael rejoined Donovan’s team on a full time basis as a territory sales representative in charge of the state of Florida. Michael tripled the Florida market in less than 3 years then moved to Stuart, Florida to become an internal manager for Donovan.

Since becoming an internal manager, Michael has been in charge of the Motor Program and the Tarp Division. He is currently an Executive Vice President and Product Manager for Donovan and has doubled the sales of Donovan’s tarp division .

Michael specializes in industrial fabric materials, fabrication of these materials, and application issues involving industrial fabrics materials. He is the chairman of the Truck Cover and Tarp Association within the IFAI. He also owns and operates Cosner Manufacturing, a manufacture of Fruit Picking Bags for the citrus industry and a cut-and-sew operation that has been producing hurricane barriers since 2005.

Chris Nielsen is the Division Manager of Donovan Advanced Hurricane Protection. He has been in the hurricane protection industry for over eleven years. Prior to joining Donovan’s Team he was employed in a similar position as the Vice President of Armor Screen Hurricane Protection and was an employee of Armor Screen beginning in 2001.

Chris’ responsibilities for Armor Screen included assistance in day-to-day operations, product installation, sales, customer relations, and solution development. He also was involved in numerous product development efforts and the launch of those products.

From 1995 to 2001 Chris was the co-founder and managing director of Hurricane Protection NV, a company specializing in hurricane protection products, their installation, and maintenance on the island of St. Maarten in the Netherlands Antilles. Before relocating to the island of St. Maarten, Chris owned and operated a taxi and limousine service, along with a vehicle maintenance facility, for 10 years in Denmark.
